Tong Schraa-Liu
Tong is the Managing Partner of the firm. She has extensive experience
in cross-border M&A integration, global performance culture improvement,
cross-cultural organizational development and global leadership development.
She has worked successfully with a variety of businesses in public and
private sectors as well as NGO’s and Multilateral Agencies in Europe,
North America and Asia.
She is co-author of the book “Responsible Leadership” with
Fons Trompenaars– the first comprehensive study on global responsible
leadership, published by Routledge in 2006.
She is a faculty member of Duke Corporate Education/ London School of
Economics, and the Fuqua Business School of Duke University, USA; she
also teaches ‘Global Strategic Alliances and Mergers & Acquisitions’
at Nyenrode University - the Netherlands Business School and ‘Cross-cultural
Management’ at Amsterdam School of Business.
At Trompenaars Hampden-Turner, she has advised and worked closely with,
among others, ABN-AMRO Bank, Abbott, Docomo NTT, Dow Chemicals, DSM, General
Motors, IBM, ING Group, International Criminal Court, The Linde Group,
Masterfoods, PepsiCo, Philips, PwC, Shell and United Nations. In addition,
Tong is specialized in trans-cultural and authentic global leadership
effectiveness for clients in both public sector and private sector. She
designs and delivers Global Leadership programs to develop and sustain
their global leadership capabilities in Europe, North America and Asia.
Since the early 90’s, Tong has run her own consultancy firm, advising
European and US multinationals on their business expansion and Mergers
& Acquisitions activities in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan,
in the area of the issue of strategy, organization and cultural integration.
Tong obtained a Law degree in Shanghai, China and earned her second master
degree in Business Economics and a MBA in the Netherlands. She is fluent
in English, Dutch and Chinese.
Tong is passionately active in the field of international peace &
development and nuclear weapon disarmament initiatives. She works on the
above closely with the senior staff of Global Security Institute, World
Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates and the World Academy of Art and Science.
