Oscar van Weerdenburg

As a Dutch national and graduate of the Amsterdam and Heidelberg universities (German Culture and Language), Oscar van Weerdenburg started his career as a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam (Department of European Studies). During this time he published numerous articles on German culture, politics and history. Many of these articles appeared in 'De Volkskrant', a leading Dutch newspaper.

In 1992 he joined the full-time staff of THT, and thus began a close collaboration with Fons Trompenaars. He has acted as a trainer and consultant to a wide range of international companies who are aware that they are operating in a complex multi-cultural environment.

The focus of his work is on German corporations and foreign companies investing in Germany. The companies he worked for include Bayer, Hypobank, AT&T, British Airways, Daimler Benz, Elf Acquitaine, Motorola, Nissan, Royal Dutch Shell, Thomson, AMD and Boehringer Ingelheim.
